For Architects, Engineers & Builders

A prepared owner
makes a better project.

We're not here to replace you. We're here to help you succeed.

Church work is some of the most meaningful in the industry, and some of the hardest to run. Decisions route through boards and committees. Budgets show up before programs. Scope nobody owns shows up late. Shepherd settles that before it reaches your desk — so the owner arrives ready, your schedule holds, and your fee protects the relationship it was meant to build.

What This Is — And Isn't

We don't design, build, or self-perform any part of the work.

Shepherd exists to prepare and support the owner — not to insert ourselves into your scope, your means and methods, or your fee. We don't replace anyone on your team. We help the church show up ready, and we back the team it picked.

What We Do

  • Test program and budget against each other before design starts
  • Identify owner-furnished scope — AV, furniture, kitchen, signage — early instead of at closeout
  • Explain drawings, bids, and change orders in plain language to the people who approve them
  • Return owner decisions on the schedule your project actually needs

What We Don't

  • Design, build, or self-perform any part of the work
  • Second-guess means, methods, or your crews
  • Take a cut of the design fee, the construction contract, or any vendor's invoice
  • Work both sides of the same project
Two Ways We Can Work Together

However you'd rather bring us in.

Under Your Contract

Supplemental Preconstruction Support

We come in as an extension of your own preconstruction team: program and budget development, design management, scope-gap review, and keeping the owner's decisions moving so your schedule holds.

For The Church

Owner's Representation

We sit on the owner's side and facilitate with you: one point of contact, a committee that knows what it's deciding, and answers that come back when you need them.

One seat per project. We agree at the start which side we're on, in writing, and we never work both sides of the same job. Any delivery method — design-bid-build, design-build, or CM at-risk.

Working with a church that's about to build?

Let's compare notes. A short conversation is enough to tell whether Shepherd fits your project, and there's no cost or commitment to find out.
